I looked for this setting, but I didn't find it. I'm not using additional shortcut placement settings and don't intend to. Name the string "ThisPCPolicy". Set it to a value of "Hide". Exit out of Registry Editor and make sure File Explorer is not open. Open File Explorer and it should be gone.
